This bacon egg cheese sandwich is so tasty, but the star of the show here is the Batard bread. Below is a photo of the Batard bread I bought at the farmer’s market, from my favorite bread vendor. Like most Saturdays I woke up, got ready, and headed to my local farmer’s market. I am pretty obsessed with farmer’s markets. I try to visit different ones every now and then. I love to find different types of produce and I am always seeking new foods and new flavors. I will post different foods I find and share my experiences. Ok, I digressed, back to the yummy breakfast sandwich. This sandwich is my husband’s favorite breakfast sandwich. If given a choice between this sandwich and another breakfast food he will always choose this one. I can’t blame him. The gooey melted cheese, crispy bacon, over easy eggs, and the scrumptious buttery toasted bread takes breakfast to a new different level.
Back to the star of the show. Drums please! Ladies and gentlemen may I introduce you to Mr. Batard! It looks a lot like your typical bread, but it’s not. It’s crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy in the inside. It’s perfect for sandwiches or Panini sandwiches. If you are ever walking around a bakery or farmer’s market and you stumble upon this goodness. I encourage you to grab one and try it out. It won’t disappoint you.
