The bouillon combined with the chicken flavor from the bones and the veggies is divine. And of course all the veggies and herbs are organic.

Difference between chicken broth and chicken stock?

Some may argue that making  chicken broth with bones is called chicken broth and others will call it chicken stock. I find that the term is used interchangeably. But I have read that when the broth is made with bones it’s called broth and when it’s made with chicken meat its chicken stock.

Where do I get the chicken carcass?

Next time you roast a chicken make sure to save the chicken carcass. You can place the bones in a freezer bag and store it in the freezer. Otherwise you can place it in the fridge and make this Easy to Make Homemade Chicken Broth the following day.

How to store homemade chicken broth?

You can store it in the fridge for a few days, but the best way to store it is in the freezer. I store mine in the freezer in freezer bags in batches of 4 cups. To store in the fridge I place the broth in airtight containers, but remember it will not last that long. It’s best to store it in the freezer.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 chicken Bones (whole chicken)
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 1 onion
  • 1 Garlic head
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 5 thyme fresh twigs
  • 1 tablespoon oregano fresh
  • 1/8 white pepper
  • 2 tablespoons bouillon better than bouillon
  • 12 cups water

Instructions
 

Stove Top Instructions

  • Place all the ingredients in a pot and simmer for 2 hours. 
  • Then use a fine-mesh strainer to strain the broth.

Instant Pot Instructions

  • Place all the ingredients in an Instant Pot. Select the high pressure setting and the timer for 60 minutes. 
  • When it’s done, use the manual release setting. Once all the pressure has been released remove the lid. 
  • Then use a fine-mesh strainer to strain the broth.
