My family and especially my kids really enjoy these honey glazed carrots. They are sweet and delicious, better than candy, in my opinion. The glaze is divine. The great thing about this side dish is that kids will love it, but also can be served with a fancy meal. The carrots look gorgeous and would look great next to any fancy dish.

You can serve them any day of the week, or for holiday meals. Mother’s Day is coming up soon and this dish will be a great addition to that meal.

Ingredients for Honey Glazed Carrots

To make this honey glazed carrots dish you need carrots, butter, honey, orange juice, and salt. I prefer to use rainbow carrots, because the colors stand out. I purchase the rainbow carrots from Trader Joe’s, they are petite and are peeled. For the honey I use orange blossom honey, because it’s my favorite. You can use your favorite honey.

How to make this dish

In a non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat add butter. Once the butter has melted add the rainbow carrots and cook for about two minutes. Then add the orange juice, honey, salt, and cover with a lid.

Turn to coat the carrots every 5-10 minutes. Cook the carrots until they are fork tender (about 25 minutes – depending on the size of the carrots). If the glaze starts to reduce too much, add a little more orange juice. And voila! you have delicious Honey Glazed Carrots.

This is not the usual steamed carrot dish. This dish is delicious, fancy, and not your typical carrot dish. Carrots are nutritious! So, you get delicious and nutritious.

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons honey I use orange blossom honey
  • ¾ cup orange juice
  • Salt to taste

Recipe Notes

  • For the carrots I use rainbow carrots, because they are colorful, and look beautiful. But you can use any carrots you like. 
  • For the honey, I use orange blossom honey, but you can use any honey you prefer.
