Ingredients

  • 8 beef ribs
  • ½ cup of barbecue seasoning I use store bought
  • 1 and 1/2 cup BBQ sauce favorite sauce to taste - less or more

Instructions

  • Rinse and dry the ribs with paper towels until they are completely dry.
  • Place the ribs bone-side-down on a foil-lined baking tray big enough to fit all the ribs and not overlap. I use a double layer of foil to reduce the mess. The grease tends to go through the foil.
  • Massage the bbq seasoning into the ribs
  • Cover the ribs with foil and seal the edges to avoid the steam from seeping out.
  • Place the baking tray in the middle rack of the oven, and bake at 250 degrees for 3 hours.
  • Every oven is different so check on the ribs at the 2 ½ hour mark or if they need more cooking time add ½ hour.
  • When the ribs are tender place them in a container while you replace the foil on the baking tray. The foil gets very greasy so it’s best to replace the foil. Put the ribs back on the baking tray and brush on the BBQ sauce.
  • Bake the ribs for an additional 20 minutes at 400 degrees. This will ensure the BBQ sauce sticks to the ribs. Or if you rather grill them, throw them on your grill on medium low for 20 mins (turn them after 10 minutes).

Notes

Tips: Buy ribs that are meaty, some stores have beef ribs that are not meaty and those are not as tasty.
